It's been almost a year since I last had a job. My last job was at a storage facility. I sat in a little office for about 5 hours a day, waiting for people to come pay for their unit, or rent a unit. The best part about this job, my boss lived in Florida. It was only me at this place. I liked the job, my then boyfriend, now hubby, hated it. The place was located in a not so good part of town, and only a few years before, maybe one or two, a woman who worked there was beaten to death by somebody trying to rob her. So, as soon as I got engaged to my wonderful husband, he wanted me to quit. He made enough money that I didn't need to work if I didn't want to.
In fact, he still makes enough to where I don't have to work, but it would be nice if I too were bringing home a paycheck. Since we moved I have applied at tons, if not billions of places. Finally last week I got a call for an interview from the last palce I applied at.
I bet your asking yourself, "Whats this got to do with elephants"? Am I right? Well I'll tell ya! The last place I applied at was the Fort Worth Zoo. Now, I'm sure I won't be interviewed by an actual elephant, but you got to admit, that would be pretty darn cool!
So, tomorrow I'm off to the land of animals, and hopefully it won't just be fleas I'm bringing home, but a job! Maybe I should discreetly wear a flea collar?

Wow, what would you be doing? I think working in a zoo would be brilliant. I'm partial to the giraffes, myself.
It's not a going to be a glamorous job. I'm not sure exactly what position I will have, but I'm interviewing with the food service department (goes with my many years of fast food work). I think no matter what the job it would just be cool to work at the zoo!
That looks like it could be a totally cool job with great perks if you get access to the zoo all the time.
Good Luck tomorrow♥ :)
You won't need a flea collar if you just put a douse of Frontline between your shoulder blades, heeheehee!! Best wishes for tomorrow, you'll do well. How cool to say, "yeah I work at the Fort Worth Zoo!"
Speaking of what we wanted to be as girls (sorry I didn't want to be a garbage man like you) I wanted to be a zoologist.. always the drama queen I couldn't just settle on being a vet, nope I wanted to be the Rock Star of the animial husbandry set.
So, go forth babe and fulfill my childhood dream.. maybe when we pass through Tejas on our way to visit the G-parents this summer we'll have reason to visit your zoo..
Consider yourself in the running for my book give away. I'm still buzzed that the author emailed ME!!
