Garage Sales and Around Town

It's such a beautiful day, in our little town, that my husband and I decided to do some garage selling today. We headed out around 7 this morning, after stopping for coffee and gas, it was more like 7:30. We stopped at many garage sales without buying anything, which defeats the purpose if you ask me.. Finally we found the cute turkey, give thanks, door hanger, and then had more luck when we found the snowman and books. Not pictured are some books I found on wedding planning (for my sister). The other pictures are from things we have found at Hobby Lobby. I plan to put some more of that leafy garland around the front door. We like Hobby Lobby.. I did have a cute little scarecrow and some crows out on the front porch, but some how our dog got a hold of them, so alas, they are no more.
We are steadily exploring this new town of ours, and today we came across this gorgeous house!
I wish I had been able to take better pictures of it, I was too chicken to get out of the car to take the pictures..

Give Away

I have yet to figure out how to put things on my sidebar, so bear with me here. I've found new blogs to read, and one of them is having a giveaway. Sandra over at Canyon Wren Cottage is having a giveaway for her 100th post. Just thought I would share.

An Anniversary

For 12 years, I was a smoker. I started smoking when I was a freshman in high school. My older brother and sister were smokers and for some reason I got it into my head that because of them, someday I too would be a smoker. So I started sneaking cigarettes from them and smoking at school. I started to hang out with other smokers and found ways to get my own pack of cigarettes. Most of the time I would steal my cigarettes, even if it was from my brother or sister, or a store.

The anniversary I am celebrating this month, is that I have been smoke free for a year now. My husband is a non smoker, so when we were dating I didn't smoke as much. When I moved in with him, I smoked even less. My smoking didn't bother him a whole lot, or so I thought. One day he brought it up and told me I needed to quit If I wanted to be with him. So I quit. I did it more for me than him. It was easier than I thought. I've tried quitting before, and always failed. I was always around other smokers then. Being around my husband made it easier to quit.
So yeah for me! Smoke free for a year and counting!!

Halloween

This was our first Halloween in our new house. We were very excited to have trick-or-treaters at our doorstep. We thought we would have a bunch of kids show up, there is an elementary school down the road, so we bought 5 bags of candy. Around 9:30 we had our one and only trick-or-treater. We were very disapointed. Now we have a ton of candy left over..
